Some time back Google have launched a Chrome Extension name Data Saver for the sole purpose of reducing data consumption for limited internet connections. Just Download the extension once and then forget about the excessive consumption of the data. As soon as you Download and install the data saver extension, it starts its work. Basically, it uses the Google’s proxy servers to compress the web pages before loading it on your browsers. That way you receives much small sized cached pages, which reduces the data consumption. Here I would like to mention that if you try to access some SSL page then it will not work at all . The reason being Proxies don’t work well with SSL connections.
